Kubota L4200 17yrs No issues 5140 on the way
My dealer is getting a M5140 for me hopefully in the next week and I would like to find someone with an owners manual that can give me the available tire spacing so I can make a decision for the setup of the track width. Also what does the manual say as to rear blade and scraper blade lengths. I have a Landpride RB 3572 scraper blade and BB 2572 box blade that I used with my old Kubota L4200 but I think I should upgrade to 7' on the BB and maybe 8' on the rear blade.

Here is a picture of my old Kubota, bought new in 1996 ... never had any issues, was a great machine. Rt_Side.jpg

I have a 5250 and have a 6' box blade and rear blade that I already had. It handles the 6' bb with ease even pulling up my driveway (rather steep) overflowing with gravel. If I was buying now I would get a 7' bb and a 8' rear blade.

I actually did go with an 8ft dual spindle rotary cutter. It was set up on the lot that way at the dealership. It looked size proportional to the tractor and will actually cut a little wider than the rear wheel tracks. Very interested to see how it handles it.

Have you used it yet? I have a 6' cutter also and the only time it starts to slow the engine is in very thick heavy growth and going up my steepest hills, other than that no issues. I think it would run a 8' fine and would just have to choose a lower gear on steep hills and very thick brush.

No still waiting on delivery. But according to the salesman it should run it with no problems. You know a salesman would never steer you wrong. lol But from what little i have read the dual spindle doesnt require as much horsepower to operate. And the down side would be it doesnt handle the larger brush as well. Will post more after i give it a go.
