I have a Yanmar YM240D that I'm thinking about selling and I'm curious what to ask for it. Runs and starts great and I haven't had any issues other than replacing the starter and glow plug. It has a home-built cab on it and a 5' blade. Turf tires in the rear and R4's in the front.
Can anyone offer a suggestion of what to ask???

Thanks in advance.

Nice looking tractor, nice cab to. should be able to get $4,000 - $5,000. Why do you want to sell it? looks like you got plenty of need for it with all the snow.

I guess it definitely depends on where you are. Here in Maine that would easily fetch 7-8K I'd say. My 186D in similar shape I got for a bargin at $5500 + tax. I've kept my eye out in the year since then and have rarely seen anything with 4x4 and a bucket for under 10K.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I live in the midwest and about the only CUTs you can find around here are JD, New Holland, Kubota and Kioti, which are all a little pricey. I was thinking of asking somewhere around $6400 and going from there.
As for reason for selling, the wife will only let me have one tractor and I need one that can put a big round hay bale into a feeder. Other than that, I love the machine; fits great in my garage while the truck sits outside!
Thanks again.

My husband and I are selling this tractor for my mother but there is no information on what year it is. We have the serial number but not able to find the year. Any ideas?

I believe the 240 was manufactured from 1977 thru 1981. I have heard sometimes there is a date on the rear wheels buts seems to me 77-81 ought to be close enough for a machine that old.

That air cleaner sticking up on the left side shows that it was the final year version of YM240D, so you can fairly call it a 1981.

Yanmar never released info on what serial numbers were made in specific years. Improved versions of the tractor were identified in the parts manuals as an incremented 'Revision Level'. That external air cleaner was used only on Revision Level 4, the final revision.
