Needing a new belt on my mower. It's a 1/2" 122". Can a 5/8" 122" be used in its place?

Depends on where the belt goes. My JD lawn mower deck uses both the inside and outside of the deck belt to power the pulley and idlers. The measurement for the ,"v" part of the belt may change also. I do not use factory belts due to the cost. Finding the right belts takes some time. I wish you luck.

The profiles of the belt have to match. Has to be the right duty type.

If the belts have the same angle, the larger belt will ride higher in the pulley groove. Make sure you have enough give in the tension system, or get a longer belt.

This would be the blade drive for a Swisher 60" trailmower

are the pulleys an A pulley or a B pulley? an A belt usually will work with a B pulley but a B belt will not work well with a A pulley. It will not fit into the pulley and the sides of the belt is what pulls or traction is obtained, and if it will not fit in the pulley, it will pull less than the A belt..

The factory replacement is 1/2" but it seems to be riding deep in the pulleys.
