I went to a ls dealer a few months ago to look. I wrote the engine size and prices down for a 25hp 32hp and 35hp. I was wanting to stay away from the emissions loaded engines so was planning on getting a 25hp I have it wrote down as a xg3025. When I contacted another dealer price shopping they said they don't make that model anymore. She nice it's a 2 hour drive to the dealer I'm curious if the xj2025 is the same physical size as a xg3135? I know they are both listed as compact tractors but will the xj2025 be about the same size as the L2501 kubota?

The XJ and XG models have different frame sizes. XGs are larger. I'm pretty sure that the XG would be the series to compare with the L2501.

The XG3025 is still listed on the LS website. Maybe she meant that they don't have any on their lot? :confused3:

Go to the different websites and check out the specs for the LS and Kubota tractors.

Hello Friend. I just brought home a new XG3025 Thursday evening. I am by far no expert and a newbie so I would be the last fellow to give you advice. I can say that I purchased one and the dealer had another 6-10 of the same tractor on his lot. Like previously mentioned, they are listed on the web site and the dealer here in NC said this was his most popular tractor he is selling right now. Hope you find what your looking for.I am excited to start playing, if you will and will be looking on this forum a lot for help and advice and maybe one or two times be able to help someone. Good luck to you, M

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to call Monday to confirm if they are just out of stock at the dealership

I'd look more at getting a tractor large enough to do what you want to do other than just wanting to stay away from a tier 4 engine.

They are all tier 4 now even the engine in the 3025 - Model (Tier 4): MHI S3L2... just anything over 25 hp needs to have additional emissions management. I personally would get the largest HP in the frame size you are looking at getting as the prices usually is only 500-1000 more between each model of that series. If you are afraid of the teir 4, there is always the option of used tractors prior to 2015... also some other brand tractors still have mechanical engines with exhaust gas treatment options instead of engine management systems.

The XG3025 seem to be selling like hot cakes in my area. Guys like me who have small acreage homes or estates who want a machine for small amounts of brush hogging, blading/grading, and loader work are finding this machine much more capable than the XJ2025. Same HP, but the XG is a larger, heavier machine so they're getting more work done with the same amount of HP. If the XG3025 had been available when I bought my J2023, I certainly would have went that route instead. My local dealer has like 15 of the XG3025 machines and they're selling them for $13,995 with loader and shuttle shift tranny.

I agree that the 3025 is a stronger tractor then the 2025. Before I even know much about the LS tractors I was presented with the chance of picking up a 2014 LS g3038 with 40 hours on it for around $15k. I decided to check out what the dealer had to offer before jumping on the g3038. He only had a couple of models in-stock for the size I was looking at: mt125 xj2025h xg3135h xg3140h. My dealer offered to order the xg3025h for $15k and after seeing them and driving them all I almost walked away with the xg3140 for a little less than ~ $20k... so, $5k more for 15 more HP, I didn't think it was such a bad deal and the g3038 sold that same day so that was not an option anymore. I really thought I needed the extra HP and weight but then the truth set in and because this tractor is going to spend most of its life on a little less than 4 acres cutting some grass, moving some dirt and digging some holes ect, also needed to be able to squeeze between openings that are about 5 feet (maybe slightly larger), to get in certain areas for mowing and dirt work and drive into the green house if needed. Most importantly my wife must be able to run it :), thats why I ended up with the xj2025h w/bh for the same price as the "fully loaded mt125" (mower/bh). The mt125 was tempting but a bit to small and no ssqa, we also have a jd400 loader/backhoe and a Massey 135 and several LARGE wheel loaders out at the farm/mine if I ever need it.

If you need the larger tractor and you don't think you'll ever need the extra HP, don't buy it. But I would also think the extra money spent for the more HP would be recovered when selling the tractor... if you ever plan to sell it. On the flip side, the MHI S3l2 are extremely good engines.
