question on disc and flail mower for MF1020

I'd have to say you're maxed at 4' on either. Need to consider weight/mass at that.

21 engine hp.......17 PTO. Not a lot of room there.

What kind of disc: Tandem? Offset?
I had a 2005 Kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto, hydrostatic tranny, 4WD). It would pull my old Ferguson 6-ft tandem disc OK in dry soil. Not so well in soft soil. It wouldn't begin to pull my 7-ft offset disc even in dry soil. Remember, you need to operate a disc at 5-6 mph to get it to work properly. I'd say get a 4-ft disc for the MF1020.

4 ft mower and 5 ft disc should work pretty good. Ken Sweet
