Question on MF 135 pto

I just got a new to me MF 135 that has the independent PTO.....the first Ferguson or MF that I have had ( over 8 so far) that has it. My first question is can I just feather it slowly into gear with an implement attached? Second question is regarding the pto brake ....(when lever is pushed forward) ....it does not seem to stop ( or even slow down) the PTO shaft.....any adjustments I can make there? Other than this the tractor is really in great condition and runs well.....gas engine.

You have the IPTO model. Again two models, with and without multipower transmission. If the rest of the hydraulic system is fine you have to lift the hydraulic cover and inspect the clutch unit and regulating/modulating valve. I personally have never worked on these models but that is what i know of them. Have some info in a manual somewhere, can look if you want. We have 19 of the previous 135's and 3 35X on the farm.

Lever forward - disengage
lever backwards - engage

Thanks for your help Tanqwa.....will give the Massey dealer a call. They have been around a while so will know about 135's
