Question on Tractor Sale

/ Question on Tractor Sale #11
I agree with the others - 100% fraud. But if you would decide to pursue something like this, set up a new savings account w/ the absolute mininum usually $50 but I've seen some for as low as $5 and give him that account info to "deposit" into, but never, ever give your real info. I'm afraid to write checks to "strangers" anymore because that has all of your account info on it. I would rather do a Pay Pal type thing or Money Order.

When my wife's purse was stolen the bank couldn't figure out why I wanted the checking account closed. They said that they would just put a stop pay on the missing checks. I said no, close it because now days with electronic checks you can create a check number in any range and have a whole new series. Once I finally got beyond the moron taking the "report" verifying the claim and spoke to someone that knew what was going on, they absolutely agreed that the account must be closed.

( Once more I'd like your opinion on a response I have with regard to the sale of my tractor here. I received the following message:

"Thank you for very much for your propmt response and interest in finalising this transaction as soon as possible. As we both know that the year is running out fast and we need to get this transaction completed before the week runs out.The price is acceptable and i will like to proceed.Funds will be transferred from my bank to you finacial institution and as soon as funds are verified the shipping procedures will be in progress.I will need to know your shipping suggestions but in the mean time i planned on using a private shipping agency and i will bear the full shipping expenses.
Before funds will be transferred by my bank, there are some needed financial informations which will be verified by my bank inorder to ensure that this is a legitimate transaction and financial informations. The needed information will facilitate free transfer of the funds to your account and you must be informed that i do not accept escrow account information.I deal directly with sellers this is to avoid being burned by fraudulent sellers.
The needed informations are as follows to which funds will be transferred to are as follows :-

Account name
Account type
Account number
Routine number
bank name and address
your contact information

With the above information, funds will be transferred as soon as possible.Get back to me with the listed informations and funds will be transferred to you without delay.I await your response"

Does this sound legit? I have alot of reservations about giving out my account info to someone I don't know. I think I'll call my bank to see what advice they would offer on this.

This is an ABSOLUTE FRAUD. Do not do it. This same scam has been tried on me several times. Do not do it.

Thanks again for the responses. I did call my bank and they stated what all of you said....don't give out any account info unless it's to a reputable business for purposes of direct deposit or direct payment.........and yes, I do feel somewhat foolish for even having asked the question here /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. As I said earlier in this post, I'm new to this internet buying and selling of personal stuff and had no idea about the scammers tactics and how prevalent they are. I think I've been "re-educated"; buyer and seller beware /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.
