Kubota L4400
Hi,

I want to add rear remotes to an L4400 I just bought (first tractor I have ever owned!). It has a FEL (LA 703) and a backhoe (BH 90). I need to control 2 cylinders on a boom mounted flail mower so don't need valves with float functionality.

I spoke to 3 Kubota dealers and got three different answers as to what parts I need. The one that seems to know what he is talking about the most recommended the following.

Does this sound like it will work?

  • L8303 (QTY 2) 1ST AND 2ND POSITION DOUBLE ACTING VALVE
  • L8561 1ST LEVER BASE KIT
  • L85862A 2ND LEVER KIT

I've attached a parts view I found that seems to support the part numbers but i want to be 100% sure before ordering as I need to get the parts shipped and really don't want to have to deal with returning parts by mail.

Hopefully it all sounds good as I hope to order the parts ASAP and get mowing.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can share.

Looks good, I did the same on my 4330. I would recommend that you go ahead and add the third rear remote though. You can run hoses from there up to the loader for a grapple if you want to.

I installed mine by myself but it would be some much easier if you had some help, those valves start getting heavy. Be sure that you don't lose any of the O rings between the valves. You can put a little bit of grease on them to hold them in place. Then I would put the bolts in, holding the valves together as one unit

FYI, you will probably notice some leakdown of the cylinders, this is a common issue with the Kubota rear remotes. I had to install some pilot operated check valves on my cylinders.

I agree - those 4 kits (2 valves and 2 lever/coupler/hose kits) should be all you need. The wholegoods kits should include everything right down to the last washer, nut, bolt. o-ring, etc.

If you were to go ahead and order the third remote AND it had float functionality, the float valve may need to be the second of the three in your stack. I don't know this for sure but I noticed on the parts diagram that the lever slots in the trim panel are different lengths with the middle slot being longer (to allow for the extra travel required on a float valve lever).

Thanks guys!

I'll get the parts ordered. I have only had the tractor for 2 weeks and already it has been great help around our small acreage. From pulling out small stumps with the backhoe to relocating a small building. tractors are like the swiss army knife of vehicles.
