Now that hydraulic leak is diagniosed and tractor is to be returned, I need to prepare for routine maintenance. As such, received a grease gun for X-mas from in-laws (sweet!). In-laws also bought me a case of grease- Mystik JT-6 Multipurpose grease. My reading of the owner's manuals would indicate that such an all-purpose grease is appropriate for the speed control pedal, all grease points on the MMM, and battery terminal. The manual is ambiguous regarding the FEL- at beginning indicating that multi-putrpose grease is appropriate for all grease points, but in maintenance section indicating that high prossure Mb grease should be used. Questions: are these all the grease zerks I need to concern myself about and is the Mystik grease purchased appropriate for all lube points or should I purchase a second grease gun with high pressure grease for FEL alone? Is high pressure grease needed elsewhere in lieu of the multipurpose Mystik grease? Finally, where are grease points on rear bagger unit?

I use high-pressure grease for my deck and multi purpose for the fel. I have two guns which makes it easy to do this.

Remember greasing your deck is for lubrication and greasing your fel is for wear.

Do a search on this subject. you will find many post on it.

You might vconsider a Moly grease for the loader but for typical home owner use I would just make sure it (loader) gets greased regular enough that the old and dirty grease gets pushed out with fresh. A moly grease would probably help prevent contact wear better than a standard performance grease. J

Went out and bought my second grease gun at TSC. Now have one loaded with Mystik allpurpose grease and one with MB (molybdenum) high pressure grease. Reading the manuals- high pressure- FEL and all purpose for everything else, is this correct? I note that some have suggested high pressure for the mowing deck (60" MMM) and others all purpose for the FEL. This seems the opposite of what is suggested in the manuals. Am i reading them wrong?

I have been told by an engineer friend that Mystic JT-6 is an outstanding all purpose grease. It is supposed to be waterproof and excellent for boat trailer wheelbearings, u-joints, ball bearings, ball joints, tie rods, etc. However, my Kubota manual for my L403 loader says to use a moly grease on the pivot points so the JT-6 would not be adequate.

Thanks, Toolguy,
So I take it that my initial reading of the manuals- all-purpose for everything but FEl w/ Mb grease for FEL is correct?

Does anyone know if the Moly could be used for all grease points, loader & otherwise? Or should moly only be used on loader?

I use the moly everywhere. Be aware however it will stain fabric black with the moly like nothing you have ever seen.
