2008 massey fergusson 1533 with quick disconnect skid steer type F.E.L.,loaded tires
I am trying to find out if the Massey 1533 loader controls have the "power beyond" feature, or do I need to change the control. I am looking to hookup a log splitter, I know how the "power beyond" feature works, just not sure if I have it on the 1533.

Take a look at your loader valve. If there are 7 hoses connected then you have PB. If you only have 6 hoses then look for another plugged port that is labeled PB or R. If this is the case you probably will also need the PB plug for that valve.

thank's Eric the loader valve has 1 line feeding it from the internal pump at the 3pth /transmission housing and 4 lines going out to the loader rams. There are also 4 ports blocked off.

Can i still go from the pump at the 3pth to an aftermarket control valve (open center) which will run my log splitter ,then to the loader valve where the feed from the pump used to be?

Also, does the aftermarket control valve (open center) need to have a detent? As this will feed my log splitter (which has it's own control valve?)

Thank you for your time and letting me pick your brains

Yes you can put another valve between the pump and your loader. One thing that does not sound right is your earlier post. If there are only 5 hoses connected to the valve and 4 of those go to the loader cylinders then there is no place for the oil to go to complete the circuit. Somewhere there needs to be a return line to the sump. I am not as knowledgeable as some others here on different tractors but it seems the majority of the tractors go from the pump to the loader which then feeds the 3PH. It is feeding the 3PH where things can get different. Some just use the tank port which is not always recommended. The "correct" way is to connect to the 3PH through a PB port and the tank port goes back to the sump with no back pressure.

So that new valve you are talking about needs to also plumb back to the sump. When you find this one on the loader valve you can T into that line. This is the only line you can T into since it does not carry pressure. Assuming your loader is using a PB to feed the 3PH. If it is feeding the 3PH through the tank line then you have some extra plumbing to do.

As far as the detent goes you can also use a bungee cord or rope to hold the valve open. That is going to be personal preference.

My project is moving at glacier speed,we just had a baby girl 27 days ago. Between sleep depravation and giving my wife a hand I have had very little time left to play with my toys.Although, she's healthy and she is a cutie so you won't hear me complain.:D

I hear you. Mine are 3 and 6 and my projects all still move very slowly. Good luck. Be sure to post if you have more questions.
