1) What switch goes in the blank area immediately beside the two rocker switches for lights and flashers located on the left side of the dash? (2) Is there a NH factory rear worklight kit available and is the wiring harness already in place? (3) Does the 16LA loader bucket have a float position? Thanks

Mike

I'm not sure about the blank rocker switch space. My 45d has a power and ground plug, that's hot when the key is turned on . It's right next to the right side seat belt, tie stapped along side the seat. On my tractor it was not being used(no rear work light), but my guess would be, it's for a factory light. I think, I read something about someone checking with a NH dealer( It may have been JIM with the TC18) and they sold a "NH Light" with an on/off switch built into the light.

Your other question about the 16la, it does has a float postion, and the two dump cycles. The dump cycles( I tried following the regenative and non-regenative thread a while ago, but I got lost half way throught it/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) With my 4n1 the farthest dump postion drops the bucket closed, so I don't use it.

Mike,
I don't have the light so I cannot give you any information, /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif but on my TC35 the 16LA float works when you push the Joystick all the way forward past the detent./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Yup the loader has a float postition. Shorty is right about the power & the light. The optional light has its own switch right on it. I installed extra lights this weekend (didn't use the NH kit 'cause I wanted more power :) ) & found that those blank areas next to the rocker switches are removeable / replacable knock-outs that will allow a standard size rocker type switch to snap right in their place. (bought my switch at the local Fleet Farm store) The same is true of the blank spots above the steering wheel. Hope that answers it for you.

Mike asked about the blank rockers, that got me thinking. What's the blank slots for on the right hand side on the tractor? I have just the 3pt hitch lever, and I think there's two or three more open slots. Bird and them have been talking about the tip and tilt, and in the boomer brochure there's one picture that looks like it has a little pic. that looks like it maybe indicating another hydraulic cylinder. If anyone has a Boomer brochure, the pic. is on page 10. The caption mentions the dual power switch on the joystick, but nothing about the 2 extra levers.Does anyone have a factory tip&tilt? Or any other levers on the right hand side.

I've never asked a dealer, but was just guessing that New Holland has optional hydraulic valves available to fit those spare slots, and thought that was a great idea. If that's not the case, then I think the slots are a bad idea./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

The extra empty slots on the right hand side are for extra hydraulic valves. Hope to have a couple installed this summer...

Bird, until Mike asked about the blanks I never really thought about the slots, just passed it off as, maybe the NH guy with the special "slot cutting tool" just liked cutting slots/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif. I guess my question should have been...Do the slots take the place of the extra vavles and handles that you guys have been discussing on the T&T thread? I think I understand that you still need the vavles& hoses and stuff, but did someone at NH design these slots for the purpose of maybe someone wanting a T&T(or other neat add-ons that come up on the tractorbynet/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) and save us from having to fabricate a bracket and all that stuff .Are these slots going to take the place of something like the vavle that you mounted on your tractor if we buy a kit from NH? Didn't mean to direct this only at Bird(I know he's a Bota man/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif), DVerbarg, what are you going to use your extra hydralics for? Are you planning on buying a kit from NH?

Shorty, like I said, when I saw those extra slots on my cousin's TC29D, I was just guessing what they were for; my Kubota doesn't have'em./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif So I assumed that New Holland had the optional stuff that Kubota doesn't have for my tractor and of course that may or may not be the case.

Shorty,

Planning on using the extra hydraulics for two purposes: one - for running a haybine for cutting alfalfa hay, two - hope to get the freedom hitch and want to have the tilt capability. I think my wife will like the freedom hitch after trying to hook up implements a couple times.

Have not followed the T&T thread but the slots on the Boomers are typically used for controlling the hydraulic valves that are mounted on the rear of the tractor. A couple pics in the NH brochures used to show a tractor fully loaded. If you wanted additional hydraulics on the front don't see any reason why it would not be possible to use the same slots for that purpose.

Yes I plan on getting the NH kit for the hydraulics. If I have enough time I would like to do it myself but might need to have the dealer install if time does not allow.
