Well its time for my hydro maintenance. The short story..Dipstick said the level was good. I drained from all 3 plugs and only got 5 gallons out after at least an hour draining. I filled the 1 filter up and screwed them both on and poured in the new oil. I was just able to get 5 gals back in and the dipstick shows slightly over full. The manual says it should take 8 gals of fluid. should I be worried? (the loader was down all hydraulics were retracted). Im kind of tempted
to run it up to temp and drain and fill again esp if there is still 3 gallons still inside. The old fluid was nasty. Tractor was at 700 hours but its 9 year old fluid so I changed it out early.

did you fill your filter?? if not then thats why you are over full . run it a few minutes then let it set and recheck

If you have a mid pto you have 4 drain plugs, one on the pto case.

Even if your cylinders are retracted they still hold a fair amount of oil.

duh I had assumed the rear pto had replaced the 3rd plug...Looks like I'm off to get another bucket of fluid.
