Could someone help me on the Yanmar 276D. What does it weigh? Is it about the size of a YM2402D? What years were they made? Were they considered a good tractor with few problems? Thanks for any information you can give me.

I have never heard that there were any bad Yanmars and the 276D is one of the later of the YM series. It is somewhat more refined. It is big enough and has enough horse power to be really useful. The big thing is to watch out for one that has been abused.
Here is the TBN thread on Yanmar specifications.<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=yanmar&Number=118580&page=3&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=>Yanmar Specifications</A>
Tractortips.com also has specs for US Yanmars. <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractortips.com/make_model/makes.html>http://www.tractortips.com/make_model/makes.html</A>

Greetings...

I have some of the original advertising literature for the 276 / 336-I can send images to you if you'd like (if John Miller doesn't post them first /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.
I've owned a 336D for oh, almost a month now /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif and can say nothing but good things about it, and especially this Yanmar Group and the TBN community.

Congratulations! The 276 is a fine tractor produced from about 1981 thru 1987. Give or take a few years....No, it doesn't have any problems. In fact, being a US model is somewhat of an advantage here.
The bare weight was right at 2300 lbs; with common options adding from 100 to 500 lbs - not including loader or implements.
Size-wise it resembled the 336 although it is noticeably closer to the ground and has a proportionately larger operator's platform. Mechanically it is more like an overgrown 226.
If you post the serial number I'll look up any technical bulletins I can find.

If you're interested, I have an operators manual that I'm really not needing for the 276. It's brand new - email me if you're interested. mcmg@lclink.com

The 276 is close to the 2420 but even closer to the 2310, though it does weigh more.( Based on 276 year, my powershift is on the floor, 2420 is on steering column.) I have a 2310 and the repair manuel for the 276. There are a few differences, but the engine, transmission, and final drive are the same. Tire sizes identical, and sheet metal parts appear the same. One interesting difference is the 276 has a water pump and thermostat, where the 2310 only has a water pump. This comes to mind from the thread about adding a thermostat. Other major differences pto speeds and throttle direction. Also 2310 has no ROPs though I think the 276 would fit based on the diagrams in the repair manuel. 276 has hydraulic filter 2310 has none. 276 has draft control or option, 2310 does not. IMHO the 276 is a better buy if condition is the same. One other plus parts are available as the 276 was imported new.

I forgot the weight.... 276; 2006 to 2244lbs. 276D; 2202 to 2458 lbs. The differences in weight are based on tire sizes. The lightest combo are the turf tires, heaviest, 276; 5.50-16 front, 12.4-24(R1) rear. 276D; 7-16(R1) FRONT 12.4-24(R1) rear.

Hi Couchsachraga - I would like to see the advertising literature for the 336. If possible, e-mail it to the following address - allenp@yadtel.net.

I would have e-mailed you directly but your e-mail address is not listed in your profile.

Thanks in advance,

Allen

Email me at clifst@msn.com about the rops, I'll need the width of the rear mounts and the dimension of the mounting plates.
