I finally drove one today while looking at a Montana. Montana is not my cup of tea. I was very impressed with the TYM 273. I don't like Hydro and I liked this one.....love the dual pedals vs that horrible toggle pedal most hydro's come with.

What is the HP at the PTO?? I can't find it anywhere. I'm guessing at 27hp at the crank its gonna be around 21 or so.......borderline for me. I'd prefer 25hp or better at the pto to handle a 5' bushhog, etc.

Dealer qouted me $14500 with 0% for 5 years or $14000 cash deal....includes loader. I like the standard rear remotes.

Might just pull me off Kioti......not sure......price is a bit more but I'd get a bit more in features.

Why in the world they have no tilt wheel on this tractor is beyond me though.....sheesh.

:^D

Where are you looking at? 0% for five years, wow you don't see that much anymore. I live in the KC area on the KS side and don't think there is a TYM dealer that is too close to me.

I agree with your assessment of the PTO hp which should be more than adequate for a 5ft hog or 6ft RFM

What features are you referring to?

Regarding the hydro pedal. Almost no one likes those the first few times they use them because it is different from what we are used to in cars. However I've become quite happy with it and would choose it again. Nice to not have to move your foot which is a real advantage when you are twisted around looking backwards at your bush hog while manuvering or reversing.

I think that's a pretty good price. the best I could get (informally) was $14,500 cash and $15,000 with 0% x 5 years. I looked pretty hard at the 273 but can't find a dealer within 300 miles that has one.

features like:

*Dual hydro pedals rather than one annoying toggle pedal that trips you up
*One pair of remotes standard
*Push button independent PTO
*Push button cruise control on dash rather than a lever down below your knee
*Loader has no annoying cross bar across the hood and obstructing the fuel cap
*Roomy and comfortable operator platform despite a smaller frame
Weight under 3000 lbs so trailering less of an issue on a 7000 lb trailer....which can really only manage about 5000lbs safely since you have to figure in the weight of the trailer
*23 hp at the PTO per TYM dealer.....same as a CK30HST
*True quick detach fel bucket
*shorter turning radius
*5 year warranty vs 4 year.....dealer said there is talk of going to 7 next year
*60 months 0% vs. 36 months for a CK

There are the downsides vs. the CK tractors:
*lower hydraulic flow.....5 gpm is significant but loader and steering operated very responsively for me...I've driven both and failed to notice any difference
*1 inch less of ground clearance
*double edge sword of tighter turning is shorter length which costs in weight and leverage for the tractor
*less weight....CK's are just a tad too heavy, imho. TYM is confusing as to what the weight is.....online says 1654 but the sales brochure had it just under 2000 lbs. Similar confusion on 3pt hitch lift capacity....online is 400lbs higher than printed brochure which is just under 1300 lbs. hmmmmm
*carries about a gallon less of fuel in tank
*runs at 100 rpm higher than CK's for rated power

Brian Sasseen was in the top 5 dealers in the USA for Montana for 2005. He passed away a couple of months ago so I would not call and ask for him. Keep his wife and kids in prayer.

A note of caution on TYM's 0%-60 mo finance plan. They charge 6% up front. This still works out to be pretty cheap financing. So although it is 0% financing, it is not $0 cost. I'm not putting them down, as I am still considering TYM seriously, with one big reason the financing, but your dealer may not have told you about the 6% flat up-front fee.
