Got 35hrs on the 45 now and its getting close so here goes. I did do some past post checks and cant seem to find much on what hydr. oil to use. I know the subject is touchy to some so i'll clarify: The owners manual says to use stuff i've never heard of so i'm having trouble locating what I need locally. Just looking at what you folks would do... seems to work out best.
SO FAR: The Woods 9000 is capable but has limitations, but, i guess they all do. What I mean is the power is good for ANY trenching and the like. I will say, the roots of stumps can hold you up longer than it should because the valve "kicks-out" so often. I never tried the Kioti unit so I cant speak of it. I have a '55' Ford 850 with a 12' hoe and a 2' bucket on that so thats my comparison. yeah, its 50 yrs. old and looser than loose and slower than most, plenty of power so it gets me wondering sometimes if everything is alright with the Woods unit. Maybe the kickout can be adjusted but i'll still feel her out.Other than that issue it still seems well built and VERY agile and responsive (so very responsive). Cant complain, just sayin'.
The loader: Its the true "Cats Meow". If you want/need any better you'll need "yellow equipment". From sufficient down pressure to just about lifting the rearend off the ground WITH the hoe on! Not really, but in 2 wd i lose traction quickly while slicing through stumps and trying to lift. A word of advise to those with many stumps/roots, GET A TOOTHBAR! Worth every penny.
The machine itself: I have to wait longer than the glowplug light to go out when starting cold sometimes. I now just count to five after it goes out and havn't had a problem. I have miss-matched grease fittings/pins on the loader( some are the interior kind and some are drilled typically,not sure why) but the dealer is on it and he seems pretty straight about mailing me the correct stuff. Lift arms were stuck till I hooked an implement to um. Problem getting the quick dc's back on (my fault) But other than that, It does what is asked of it and more. I'd be more enthusiastic but another payment is due soon so..... Just kidding Tom
