quick attach compatability

I want to do a meyers snowplow mounted on a bobcat-type quick attach mounting plate, then hook it to my quick attach FEL loader arms.

Is there any difference between quick attach mounting plates? From what I've seen, they all make them to the same specs.

So if one were to remove a loader bucket from a Bobcat, it should fit my Challenger quick attach, Kubota quick attach, etc.?

Right, we go from a SS to our M4900 just as easy changing to another M4900. They all work the same.

The dimensions for the brackets and latches are an SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standard for "Skid-Steer" attachments. Of course it has been adopted by the tractor industry for other than skid-steers.

Thanks guys. I figured this was the case, but I heard someone once say that some brands have "proprietary" attachment specs that only fit their brands.

The only one I know for sure is JD (based on what a dealer told me). He said on their compacts that the quick attach fits only JD attachments. Of course, that would include if an aftermarket mfg. made something to fit the JD design. I am sure others here can tell you the other brands that have their own designs.

I think the key is, do they call it "skid steer" quick attach, or just "quick attach".

For the most part, they are interchangable. The JD skid steer carrier on my 3720 would not accept a kubota quick attach bucket I bought for it and my bobcat pallet forks. The slots on the bucket and PHD were not wide enough. I cut them about 1/2" on each side. JD's carrier uses attachment hooks that come in at an angle toward the midline and the notch on each side was not long enough.

Older, case skid steer carrier was also of a different width but similar design. However,this was probably 15-20 years ago.
