I borrowed this picture from another thread.

That is a very nice piece of equipment; my question is not about the nice rake; but, instead, it is about the draw-pins.

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...uick-attached-landscape-rake-top-p4020055.jpg

Note the draw-pins where the quick-attach attaches to the rake frame; it is hard to tell in the picture, but are those entirely different pins than standard, made especially for quick-attach use; or, are they something installed over the normal draw-pin; or, are they purpose-built home-made ??

Thanks.:)

That is indeed a very nice rake & set up, the owner should be very proud. I am sure that whomever owns the tractor / rake can answer your question 100% correctly but I will make a stab at it.
There is what appears to be a large set screw at the top of the pin. If it is a set screw than maybe what your seeing is just a sleeve / adapter used to modify the factory pin to something that works with the quick hitch.

those items are called Quick Hitch Bushings, probably Cat 2 bushings, they are used foe attachments being used with the quick hitch. You would slide them over the attachment pins and there is a rolled split pin that lines up with the hole for lynch pins, you then hammer them it to lock bushing on attachment pins.If you use any type of quick hitch you need a set of bushings for every attachment being used with the quick hitch.

Most QH come with provision for CAT 2 pins on the implements. The SpeedCo and HF are two such examples. What is normally done for those of us who have CAT 1 implement pins is to buy bushings for all the implements so that they fit snuggly in the pin slots. Just a bit more explanation for Devil Dog's.
This is generally true for all QH unless you make your own as I did. :D

Thanks everyone.

I knew about the CAT-II bushing adapters that simply slide over the CAT-I pins and are held on by a plain old lynch-pin, but the set-up pictured looked to be a bit better solution.

One thing I like about it is, so long as the quick-hitch is kept under lock and key, nobody without a quick-hitch is gonna be borrowing the equipment.

I guess TSC would carry those ???

Thanks.:)

The quick hitch bushings are nice but are a bit pricey IMO. TSC sells them for approximately $26 a pair. I use the 7/8" x 1 1/8" bushings which I find for about $2 to $4 per pair so can afford to have them on most of my attachments.

You can add a couple of 7/8" washers outside the cheap bushings to provide side-side capture similar to the $$ quick hitch bushings.
