Thanks for the ideas!
Safety definitely is my first priority! (I do all my own stunts! I've got no helpers.).
There would never be anyone in the basket when moving it. The tractor would be moved into position & the basket positioned by me. Then the ladder would be setup to get into the basket (the ladder is ground staked at the bottom and attached to a bracket up on the basket). Once up the ladder, the harness is snapped onto the basket and I get in the basket. (There is an emergency rope to get down from the basket in the event of the ladder disappearing). The work is done in the basket with a harness on and then I descend the ladder and the ladder is removed and the tractor moved into the next position, etc.
I actually do a lot of work currently within the tractor bucket using these methods... I have a fence mounted on the top edge of the bucket which I harness to. But the tractor bucket only gives me a lift of 8' which only gives me a max working level of about 12-14'. And in some areas, the tractor & bucket can't get in there... (but a basket on a boom could). And because it's a bucket, it's not ideal for standing in and working from (especially in wet weather). That's why I'm looking into better setups to accomplish this.
When transporting & setting up the basket, I will be moving very, very slow. This is partly why I'm concerned about the forces on the connection during transport & raising.
Thanks again.
