NH and almost everyone seem to offer the QA /Skid steer style attachment option. Cost more money (of course) and offers a faster (easier??) method of switching from an FEL to forks. Now, is this feature that useful? I was reading over at carver equipment FAQ, and they implied that you might save 20 minutes with the QA feature removing and reattaching an FEL. Maybe 30 minutes.

Now, if I have no plans on switching from a FEL to forks and back on a regular basis, is the cost of the QA system worth it? Would it be a foolish thing not to get the QA in the future?

I wouldn't get a FEL without QuikTach. I primarily use it to drop the bucket for mowing around tight spaces. I also use it for my FEL arm boom pole.

This is a good investment.

The cost for adding quick attach feature is just not that much on these 29k plus tractors. Just seems like a no brainer to have it. It might be something you never use, but the day you do decide to change buckets will be the day you wish you had the quick attach.

Bob, if you even remotely consider any other attachment to be used other than the loader bucket, ( forks, grapple, bail spear etc.) it only makes sense. 2-3 minutes to change implements vs. 20-30 min. You are more likely to use these items when it's easy to change them. When it's a pain to change, you try to get by with the bucket because you didn't feel like taking the time to switch.

I have 4 attachments for my loader and I know that I would not be with out a Quick Attach. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Never mind it only takes a few minutes to manually do a changeout without a QA .... there are some items that are sold ONLY as a QA so you're outta luck if you don't have a QA for that piece of equipment. I didn't get the QA when I bought -- but am converting to it now -- needed to in order to get the grapple bucket I wanted. Save yourself some time & trouble - get it now. ....1 thing though -- be sure it's a universal QA ... NH didn't give me the option for a universal QA when I bought - which meant I could only use NH equipment on it ---but they've changed their ways now.

Bob, I'd go to the dealership and ask to try a tractor with QA and see for myslelf how easily the bucket is removed or attached. Consider that you will be able to mow without the extra bucket bouncing around or hitting trees in tight spots. Also if you want to lift something really heavy, you can remove the bucket and attach a chain to the QA crossbar. That will give you almost 400 additional pounds of lift capacity since you don't have to lift the empty bucket. If you ever decide to sell that tractor, the QA will be a huge benefit also. I think it's QA all the way. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I was one that ordered the QA with the tractor. I regularly change between the bucket, the pallet forks, and occasionally the snow plow. Can't really imagine the time and frustration saved over a period of 2-1/2 years that we have owned the tractor but I would highly suggest it. Take the price of the QA and divide it by the number of tractor payments and it will make the purchase a lot easier to swallow.

I ordered our TC40DA w/the bobcat compatable quick attach & really like it. Changing from the bucket to forks (which by the way are super handy for moving stuff) takes less than 2 min. I'd highly recommend it.

I ordered it with my DX-29. I think the cost is about $200, and you get a slightly more capacious bucket in the deal. If you make the switch later, you will have an extra bucket sitting around.

After you have the QA plate on your loader, you can either buy additional things to fit the QA or improvise your own, depending on skill level.

I have a 3 pt. carry-all which I plan to add a plate to so I can put it on either end of the tractor. It will work just fine as pallet forks, since I already use it that way on the back. I hope to be able to mount my 6' rear blade to an improvised adapter and then to mount that to the loader arms -- front snow/grader blade! By adding a hydraulic cylinder and taking advantage of the grapple lines, I'll be able to turn the blade from the seat in addition to the lift and tip features of the loader.

You can get a 3 pt. adapter plate which will allow many 3 pt. implements to hang on the front of the loader, too. It's a feature that is guaranteed to put more utility in your purchase.

My 2120 came without a Quick Attach and I added an ATI later. My TN75 has a New Holland Quick Attach. I would never get a tractor without it. Today I made 4 bucket changes, forks, rock forks and 84" bucket.

I think the Quick Attach Carver speaks of may be the loader itself and not the bucket. Just my thoughts. I actually never take the loader off my tractors so even though they both are Quick Attaches, it really doesn't matter except to the dealer who takes the loader off for servicing.
