Wiggling the joystick won't do anything for the 3rd function circuit. Close the grapple and then turn the engine off. Turn the key back on so the 3rd function has power and then 'close' it some more. Give it at least a couple seconds. That should let the residual pressure drain out from the grapple and into the rest of the hydraulic system.

This seems to have been the issue, I wasn't waiting long enough. I waited 3/4 seconds this time with the key on and had zero issues disconnecting yesterday. Strange that I don't have to do this with the front mount auger, or any other attachment I have hooked to 3rd function, but I am happy to have a 3 second easy solution!

Here are a couple pics of my wife using the tractor and the grapple for the first time to move around a bunch of brush I cut. I was inside finishing the electrical on the barn so she decided to try driving the tractor and getting the brush cleared. I had to tell her to keep the loader arms down when possible and lower the center of gravity, but she got a lot done and is much more comfortable on the tractor now!

I had Stucci and another brand that I can't think of right now. Both where horrible. I finally threw them away and just unscrew the hoses to get them apart, put a cap on the ends and I'm done. Dealing with the quick attach hose ends was so time consuming that I found it easier to just use the wrenches when taking off my grapple, or putting it back on. The caps for the ends of the hoses where cheap, and they work 100 % of the time!!

I definitely was feeling the same way, but making sure to close it and then really wait a few seconds with the key in the "on" position and not running while clamping further sure seems to have solved the problem.

I only recently had a grapple and my first implement to use the third function. It is also the hardest implement I have to find a way to set the grapple so pressure does not build up in the cyl and hoses. For me it is to with grapple fully open and lay it face down with no load on the cyl to hold the lid up. Not the easiest to line up for reattachment but works best for my grapple and me. I have hooked and unhooked implements on the rear remotes for years and those are like the loader joy sticks easy to break the pressure on to me compared an electrical valve.

On my Kubota with a LandPride Grapple and 3rd function the control is electric. I just drop the grapple to the ground, turn off key, turn key back on push buttons and wiggle loader controls.

Seems to work every time

Yes - do that for uncoupling. To couple the grapple you have to remove any pressure in the line on the grapple side. I can usually connect one line. The other requires me to take pressure of by dragging the top of the grapple back to open it a little or raise the loader and uncurl so the top half of the grapple hands down a little. The line will have less pressure and be easy to connect.
