Quick Hitch and Blade for 425

I have an opportunity to purchase a quick hitch and blade from x495 or x700 series tractor. Does anyone know if it will fit the 425 series?

Best way to find out is to go to JD build it yourself and look at the blade. It will list the quick hitches for the various tractors. I think in this case the blade is interchangable but the quick hitch is different.

Yes it will fit - the only difference is the hoses are longer. I put a hitch and blade on my X485 from a 445 and the only thing needed was a hose extension kit.

The answer is the newer hitch (for an X series) will not fit back to the older 425,445, and 455 frames.

The old hitches from the 425 etc will carry forward to fit the newer X series, as wolfe1 experienced.

Thanks for the reply. Looking at the posts, it looks like you can take a 425 quick hitch and mount it on the X series but can not go backwards? Is there a modification I could do to allow the newer quick hitch fit the 425?

I think yes, if you have access to a cutting torch and/or a plasma cutter. Maybe some welding.

Might consider selling the hitch and picking up one that fits the 425. The blades will fit both quick hitches.
