I'm sure this is a tired horse, but it's wood cutting season her, so I thought I'd bring it up.
I use a Harbor Freight quick-hitch on my BX-24 as a poor man's skidding arch. On the plus side it's cheap, always on the tractor, and effective. On the down side the short rear end of the BX can let the log bash the PTO guard or snag on the lift arm tensioners. All in all, it works well, and I've picked up and skidded 18" maple (windfalls) without difficulty.
