I have a 2008 JD 5303 and I am considering a quick hitch for it. Doen anyone know if the off-brand units will accommodate JD implements? I have a MX7 that I want to use with it.

I am a iMatch user...they don't cost much more than the imitations except for the Horrible Fright ones.

I should be getting my new JD 4720 around Thanksgiving and am thinking about getting an iMatch Quick-Hitch which retails for $299. My dealer rep says "iMatch may NOT fit other brands besides JD & Frontier. Also, not all JD & Frontier attachments are iMatch compatible."

The 4720 will have a JD FEL, backhoe and tiller with it. In addition, I have already have a rear snow blower and a 6' scraper blade I plan to use with the 4720. I may get a 7' rear scarper blade and/or a box blade next spring which may or may not be JD / Frontier products.

Given my current and planned attachments would an iMatch Quick-Hitch be beneficial?

I've been using Imatch for years....I know Landpride fits them...but anything else I 've just made it fit the tractor...a little fabrication is all is needed...no big deal....wouldn't be without the Imatch...I've converted King Kutter stuff to Imatch and other items...I can't see why a person would not have one....

I have Imatch on my new 4720 w/cab. Works great!

jcalla, what do you have for attachments including brand?

JD Ballast box, Kingcutter 6' tiller, old 7' bushog, liliston 8' finish rotary mower, 8' Ford blade, 7' york rake. What I have had to do is shim the inside of the ballast box to take up the slack and on some of the others I have had to install bushings on the implement using liquid naid to hold bushings in place. Befor I bought the JD Imatch I looked into others which were a lot cheaper but were not built as rugged as JD Imatch. The Landpride is more expensive and has a feature to adjust the toplink. It also has a auto leveling link hook up on the toplink. JD Imatch gave me the best bang for the buck!

So long as the hitch maker follows the basic cat measurements are followed and the att unit has enough rooms for the hooks. Keep in mind that the "I-Match" is the catI quick hitch you will want a catII hitch for your unit.

catII inside lower width 32 3/4, mast height 15"

IMatch has a welded in place top hook where some other brands have an adjustable hook, I can't see the benefit in having an adjustable link on something that should be uniform in design. If you take the time to make all the implements fit properly the IMatch is quick and easy to use. This is particularly evident with the increased weight of Cat II implements.
