Just throwing out a question,,I have a deere Imatch hitch, using cat 1 attachments, rather than install bushings, any prob with making a half shell set and cementing them to the hitch?

Unless you braze weld them I don't think cement will work. The forces are too great. Also, the bushings limit vertical movement in the hitch. The JD engineers are smart and thought this out. Stick to the design.

I use the cheap TSC bushings, 1 to 2 and cat 2 to 3, and a hitch pin. The bushing steel is so soft it wallers out/ smashes and gets bigger. It is a slow process and if you have a smaller tractor may not happen.

Someday I'll buy a piece of shaft grade steel and turn some on my engine lathe.

The Imatch is fantastic, especially the older non adjustable model. It is the best addition for my tractor. The only time I don't use it is if I borrow an attachment.

You are wise to get it.

Go with JRP's suggestion to use the cheaper bushings from Tractor Supply. Agri-Supply has them too, BTW.

I can appreciate your original intent though.
First time I bought a bushing kit (from Deere), it cost $80!!!
After that, I went with Agri-Supply's kit....which were the two lower link bushings and roll pins. Same bushings as the Deere kit...only difference was the Deere kit had a bushing for the upper link too. Those are available at many hardware stores for a couple bucks.
