Greetings,
I've been considering purchasing a quick hitch for my 165. I typically use a harrow, a bush hog, and have recently acquired a set of bottom plows. What brand and category would you recommend?
Has anyone seen a quick hitch that has a mount for a tailor hitch ?

Thanks,
Michael

I have one of the low cost hitches from Harbor Feight. It has done everything I've asked of it. No problems.

As for cat. Your 165 should take a cat II implements. BUT you will need to do some checking on the implements you have, are they cat I or cat II? Additionally you may find all of your implements may not be made to stds or intended to be use with a QMH. You may have to do some small mods to get everthing close enough so all will mount to the hitch without any adjmts.

The Low Cost part sounds good.

Thats what I thought from the pin sizes, eyeballed not measured though. The horsepower rating is above cat I but below cat II.

A mix of both.

I L know I'll have to make some adjustments so let the "fun" begin.

Within the last couple weeks I noticed at my local HF store they now have both cat I & cat II models. Both under $100 and can find the cat I on sale for ~$70 regularly.

Don't see how a QMH can accommodate both cat sizes. Due to the low cost of the HF models, maybe you can afford to have one of each.

The Plan:
As my implements will have to be modified any way, Probably, I won't know for sure until I get the quick hitch, but looking at the harrow and bottom plow they will be. Buy a cat 2 hitch and add bushings as required to the cat 1 lift arms attachment points. The harrow will require an adapter for the top link and it should not be to difficult widen the adapter to accommodate the wider cat 2 top hook, is that the proper term.

Due to the low cost of the HF models, maybe you can afford to have one of each.
if I did not have to modify the implements already that might be an option but IIRC quick hitches are not fun to install.
Thanks,
Michael
