I bought a quick hitch for my 5325. I thought it would fit the MX 6 but found the pins on the MX6 are a couple of inches short even with JD's expensive little adapter kit.

Anyone made a modification to make this rig up work?

Thanks.

Did you buy the category I (Imatch) or a category II quick hitch??

how hard was it to make your MX6 quick hitch compatible?

I have a 4120 and a MX6 with IMatch, works great out of the box.

I beleive a JD kit is available to make them work, it is a no cost option when ordered (I think). My dealer mention something about it when I ordered.

The MX6 comes Imatch (cat I) compatible. I am wondering if on the tractor he is using he might have a cat II hitch.

You can convert the MX6 to CAT II which the OP might be referring to in his post but I do not know if the CAT II conversion makes it quick hitch compatible??

Been out at the place the last few days. Thanks for the replys.

The quick hitch for the 5325 must be a Cat II. I have an I match on the 2320 and is not the same set up. The pins on the MX 6 are roughly two inches short on each side even with the bushing adapter set up. I had not visited with the dealer to see if there are longer pins that can be installed. Will give him a call and see.

The MX6 can be converted to CAT II.

Installing Category 2 Hitch Pin Conversion Kit (MX5 and MX6)

1. Remove existing lock nut and hitch pin from masts.
IMPORTANT: During assembly, make sure bracket (B) is positioned correctly so it sits flatly at lower attaching point.

2. Assemble category 2 hitch pin (A) through hole in top of bracket (B). Fasten to mast using hardware (C-E). Leave loose.
3. Attach bottom of bracket to mast support using M16 x 45 flange-head cap screw (F) and lock nut (G).
4. Tighten all hardware to specifications. Specification

That's for that info. Called the parts man--he had to go to the salesman to get the kit number. Will run just a little over 100 bucks. Seems like its sort of a mystery to all the salesmen how to get frontier and JD equipment quick hitch and I match compatible at the time of the sale. Its a little irritating, but I suppose a lot of the rig ups are not done that often.
