I am looking to get a plow that I could put on my loader and swap out fast. I found one at Bxpanded that looks good but are there others out there? Any one have any experience with Bxpanded plows? I love my 66" rear blower but today it was wet packed snow that clogged it and the bucket is great for moving piles but it leaves a trail pushing snow and I hate dumping the bucket every 10'. I can live with a fixed blade with a pin to change angles, I don't want any hydraulic set up.

I’m not sure if you are talking about something that attaches to the bucket or uses SSQA to replace the bucket.

I have a SSQA blade with hydraulic angle- it works well in areas where the ground stays frozen all winter. For areas with a lot of freeze thaw it will probably be too heavy- even with the feet

I have been using the Bxpanded plow for about 3 years and I think it works great. I plow a 100' concrete drive and a 900' gravel drive and it works very good on both surfaces. I have been using it on my BX but I plan on switching it over to an L2501 as soon as it comes in...

One of the things I like about the plow is that I can use the bucket curl function to adjust the pitch of the blade as it sits on the skid shoes. This allows me to scrape close on the concrete and also stay off a little bit on the gravel. It can also be put on and taken off the tractor in minutes.

That is what I am looking for, something I can put on quickly or go back to the bucket. Good to hear from a BX owner thanks.

If you have a SSQA (Skid Steer Quick Attach) on your loader, you can make a quick attach plow using a truck plow and blank SSQA plate. I picked up a Meyer 7.5' plow and mounted it to a blank plate. Cost was $250 for the plow and $100 for the plate. Welded two boxes on the bottom of the plate with holes and a pin that mount the plow's A frame to the plate. The D ring at the top hold the chain which goes to the top of the A frame and allows the plow to float while plowing. I can raise or lower the plow very quickly by tilting the FEL back and forward, or of course raising or lowering the FEL arms.

To unhook the plow, I have to undo the 2 quick attaches on the hydraulic hoses which control the plow's left and right angling, and then raise the 2 handles on the FEL quick attach mechanism. I lower the FEL and the plow comes off. Drive over to the bucket, hook the FEL on the bucket's quick attach bars, lower the handles on the FEL and done. Takes 2 minutes total.

Nice set up you have there, no tire chains? I do not have the SSQA on mine, it was an option when I got it but I had no intention then of changing out the bucket. I will be adding a new cutting edge this spring due to wear from scrapping the driveway.

My tractor as setup for snow weighs around 5000lbs and my driveway is flat, so I have never needed chains. I didn't really know what SSQA was when I bought my tractor, but boy am I glad I have it! I have a bucket, plow and forks that I rotate out, and hopefully I will be getting a grapple sometime in the near future.

Heavy wet packed snow that has melted overnight or comes down wet will clog any snow blower if your traveling too fast.

Do you take half cuts after the first opening pass???

Before you spend that kind of money you should purchase a couple of cans of Fluid Film in the aerosol spray can to spray the impeller blades and the chute and spout with to slick them up as you will be able to get rid of the heavy wet snow then.

Be sure to keep the Fluid Film aerosol cans in a warm place so that you can shake a can up and mix it well and use it as needed as you will see a huge difference in how the snow blower runs for you. a lot of folks use Fluid Film on their walk behinds snow blowers and their single stage snow throwers(Me) and it doubles the casting distance as long as you are operating slowly.

You can always cut small teeth in the auger ribbons with a sawzall to cut the snow into smaller pieces as the open augers with the wide ribbons always push the wet packed snow forward unless there are teeth cut into the auger ribbons.
