People of the Power Trac forum, I wanna say something.
Whether you believe me or not, if you do thats great :) if you don't, well thats ok with me, everyone can have their opinion. But I don't wanna focus on that.

I just want to say Thanks for all the advice and you guys gave me and the time you took to answer my questions. You guys gave me knowledge and your our opinions about one of the coolest and versatile machines on the market. Thank you to everyone of the Power Trac forum. Thank You guys.
As far as us getting a PT, thats still up in the air, we have to see one first.
Hoping to find one near me.

I'm not sure if I'll be on too much they way things are now, but I'll check back every now and then.

Take Care guys ;)

Toolcat,

I have a 422 if you want to take a look at it. I am down by Dundee, where Cabela's is.

Although, right now I am "dead in the water". I was mowing and the machine just quit running. So now I am trying to troubleshoot the problem, starting at the battery.
That is why I am on here now, to search for others who have done troubleshooting when their machine would not turn over.

PT's can't be beat when they are running; but when they don't, all you want to do is beat them. (IMHO)

[By the way, note to moderator (MR?): Why did you "close" the conversation on Toolcat? (another post) If he is legit (I give him the benefit of the doubt) then no problem. But if he is not, then let it be a warning to others that the folks on this forum won't put up with the non-sense! I think that is fair. Besides, I did not see anything from anyone that was beyound the pale, or nasty.]

It is against TBN policy to discuss moderation decisions in the forums.

Sorry.

Now let's move on from this subject, please.

Thanks for the offer Idabe but I'm looking to see one of the big Diesel models.
I got so much going on right now (work, bicycling, friends), just living the good life!
I'm hoping that a Power Trac finds me  Or that I just happen to see one out of the blue. With all the industrial and Commercial places around here, it wouldn't surprise me.

I have a 422 that did the same thing. Check the fuse holder coming off the battery deep in the tub. It was losing connection once it got hot. Changed it out and problem went away.

I have had the same problem from the fuse holder. It was somewhat erratic. They use insulation displacement connectors inside the fuse holder. A very bad concept. My fuse holder was connected to the big starter terminal, where the positive battery lead connected. This stopped the lights from working as well.

I thought it was the fuse also (light blue 15), but when I changed it, still nothing.
So I went up to the 5 spade connection (or was it seven) and this was the problem.
It was very dirty inside, and two of the spades did not have a good connection.
Cleaned, pulled the spades up further to get a better connection when plugging back together, and viola! She fired right up.
Praise the Lord!

Glad you found the problem. By the way it was not the fuse, but the fuse holder that we had problems with.

Once again, I had to remove some posts from a thread and close it. As I mentioned earlier, please move on from the subject, folks.
