Well, my first full weekend with the new 4710, and I love it! Spent one day with the MX6 cutting, and one cutting trees and limbs, moving them, and building burn piles. The FEL is incredible. Except for the mud, it was a great time. But I do have a quick question.

I read the manual, and it says to engage the PTO at 1500 rpm, and to disengage it at 950 rpm. When I engage the PTO with the MX6, the engine bogs down for a second or two, then picks back up. This is my first time running a rotary cutter, so I'm not sure if this is normal. Is it? Will I do damage if I engage or disengage at higher rpms than recommended? Can I do an emergency shut-down if needed, or is it all going to fly apart if I do?

Guess that was more than one question - sorry!!

I have the exact same setup and an 8 foot bush hog mower also. No don't worry about hurting anything when you stop the mower It is always best to let the engine slow the implement but if you have to stop something all of the sudden it won't break anything. But starting it is best to have the rpms up a little or else the tractor might stall. I personally on the big mower like to pull up get the mower started a little then push down the button then when rpms go back up finish starting the mower. Also which way are your pins turned on the mower my dealer put the pins facing the inside and it screwed everything up on the mower. The holes and bolts all turned oval shape. So make sure they are facing out. You may need to set the tires on setting wider. Hope this answers your questions. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
