i was taking off my lower hydraulic arm today to have the seals redone(small leak) i was able to get off the hydraulic lines and the front pin out. i took out the two cotter pins(upper and lower) where the arm mounts to the backhoe frame but i can't figure out how to get the rear pin out, any ideas, i've hit it with a small sledge and its like its locked in some how, whats the trick. thanks in advance, i've done 80% of it, i'd hate to take it to the dealer now.

Are your talking about the swing cylinder? Unclear as to what "lower hydraulic arm" you are referring to?

The arm that moves the boom side to side, sorry for not being more clear

OK, That is the "swing cylinder"

Looking at the detailed drawing, it does not appear anything else should be holding it in.

Great news! Since you went through all that work-you should have taken on the easy job of rebuilding the cylinder also...

Look at the pictureI posted above, there is just a retaining ring that keeps everything together. You can get the seal "kit" from JD.
