Case 480E
I have a Case 480E used in a cemetery for digging graves, moving some dirt around with front loader. Several months ago I noticed it not having the same power or acceleration when using the foot throttle. Then when scooping a load of dirt with the front loader, the engine would die and would not start without taking pressure off the loader. It will also kill the engine if you accelerate too fast. It starts right back up but the problem is consistent. The backhoe works fine and throttles up fine, it is just cruising down the road and loading dirt when the problem occurs. Since it won't start without relieving pressure off the front loader when scooping, I thought the hydraulics are somehow involved. Any suggestions on where to look for the problem or anybody have anything like this happen? Thanks for any help.

I think you need to change your fuel filter/s . I think your engine is starving for fuel causing the stalling and the hydraulic pump is in the middle of doing work when it stalls leaving the system pressurised . This maybe creating drag on the hydraulic pump making it hard to turn the engine over until it is relieved .
