First post been reading for 3 years........ I am now ready to buy!:D
In NM we are limited on options / dealers so I did the normal checking with local dealers in the state. On average I was quoted 18k for a CK20 & CT122 both with FELs. This seems high.

What do you guys think?

I don't know if I should be happy or mad at that, but I think you just answered a lot of questions for me.
I appreciate the info!

I'm not a dealer and I know prices have risen but that is more than I paid for my CK30hst with fel four years ago including the tax. I realize prices are somewhat regional and do change but...ouch. I'd definately look elsewhere or see if Wallace can get one to you

Wait hold on!
There is an important question I need answered.

What would be more fun Gear or HST?

Here is what the tractor will be doing for me.
Tilling / plowing in spring and fall
Loading / hauling manure spring, summer and fall
Loading / hauling wood in the fall.

Hydro is more user friendly. Especially if you plan to mow and do lots of loader work.
Tilling with a hst is the only way to go!
Gear is a little cheaper.
As far as fun any tractor is fun compared to a shovel!:p

As mentioned here and in previous posts, if you doing a lot of pulling like a bottom plow, then gear might be better. If you're mowing, using the loader, or the spouse runs the tractor, (my wife likes the hst :) ) then the hst is nice although a few bucks more. I've had both and I like the hst. Use it for snow plowing, pulling logs for fire wood, loader work, tiller once, (infinate speeds are nice) and other general work. Everyone has their own idea on which is best but both are fun. :D
