R4041H Water Pump Leak

Hello,

I have a 2013 R4041H that has developed a small coolant leak that looks to be coming from the shaft of the fan/water pump.

The tractor has 88 hours on it. I contacted the dealer it was purchased from and he told me that its not covered under warranty because its "external" to the engine.

Now, I bought it used from the original owner with 50hrs on it, they were moving out of state. The original owner purchased the tractor from the dealer I spoke to.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with the 40hp series mitsu motors?

I suppose I can replace it myself, but it seems the 5 year warranty claim isn't all its cracked up to be?

It seems odd that the dealers first question was "did you buy the tractor here"...

Any thoughts?

Only the internals of the power train are covered for 5 year the rest are 2 years. Check what month it was first purchase if just over that date I would talk with the dealer. If it isn't past that date it should be covered.

I think its a few months past, looks like I will be replacing a water pump if it gets worse.

Kind of sad its only lasted 88 hours...

I would think this is an isolated incident seeing this motor was used in many tractors. I have almost 400 hours on my 4041h with no problems!

I have a 2013 R4041H with 274 hours. I had a small coolant leak when mine was new and had a hard time finding it. I thought mine was the water pump also. The dealer picked up the tractor and returned it the same day! The casting "goose neck" on top of the engine where the top radiator hose connects had a hairline crack in it and coolant dripped out only when the engine was cold!
My dealer did not charge me anything, BTW he is a great dealer! (Robinson Equipment, Lakeview, MI)

Check it over real good before you buy a water pump!
Other than that this tractor has been great and I love it! I would buy another LS in a heart beat.

Thanks for the info, I will look it over again, but I checked pretty close and it looked like it was coming from the shaft seal.

I suppose if I need a part I can get it from a NH or Case IH dealer since they were the same tractors.
