Is there an upgrade or something that works better than the telescopic stabilizers that came with my R4047? I could never get all of the slip and sway out of them.
Now would be a good time to upgrade since I didn't get them when I bought my tractor back.

I broke mine on my MT352 and bought replacements at Messicks - they were upgrades from OEM and in stock. I backed into something or hit something sideways with my brush hog..

Were they for an LS or another tractor brand.? Maybe I'll give them a call and see what they have.

A little “slip and sway” is pretty normal, it will be interesting to hear what you say if you ever do manage to get all “slip and sway” removed.

I agree. A little play is good and won't affect the operation whatsoever. However, having it really tight, can create some issues.

I don't know if this is the case for this model or not but many tractors don't have the pivot point for the stabilizers perfectly inline with the pivot point of the lift arms. Meaning as the 3 pt point raises, it will get those stabilizers even tighter and eventually break something.

I guess I had a little more sway than I should have. I had problems with the box blade contacting my tires (R4's) when traveling with the blade lifted.

Without the stabilizers properly adjusted the lower arms could possibly rub on a tire on my XR4155 .
Since you currently don’t have any stabilizers installed yes I believe that could pretty quickly become a very big and expensive problem .

Of course I haven't had any implements on the 3 pt hitch since I bought my tractor back from a friend in WV. It wasn't until I got home in AZ that I noticed they were missing.

I guess I should give the short version of this story. Due to a nasty divorce in 2019 in PA I was court ordered to sell the tractor and give my ex half of the money. I sold it to a friend, with the condition I get first right of refusal should he decide to sell it. I tried to sell it cheap but her attorney wasn't having it. Fast forward to February of this year and my friend contacted me and said he doesn't use it enough, do I want it.
He only put about 50 hrs on it.

So prior to my friend owning it, that is when I had the trouble with the sloppy stabilizers....

And that, as Paul Harvey used to say, is the rest of the story!
