Well, I bit the bullet and bought a new "R" series Montana over the holidays. I believe that my wife is just as excited as I am.
In my work, I design and test prototype automotive parts for a major corperation. I am very picky when it comes to spending alot of money. My wife calls me ****, although I don't believe it is for this reason.
We studied and compared (3) major brands - Kubota, Massey, and Mahindra - against the Montana R4344. We fell in love with the Kubota Grand L40 series and the Montana "R" series. It came down to specs vs. price and the Montana came home with us. Montana beat Kubota on everything (right down to a dual element air filter vs. a single) except durability. Kubota is a proven company that has a reputation for quality. I believe from what I've studied and what little time I have spent on my tractor, that Montana will be recognized in the same class in just a few short years. All they need is seat time.
Anyway, back to the new toy.
So far I am very pleased with my decision. We are still in the break in period but I can already tell that this tractor is going to be light years ahead of my others (Massey MF165 and an 8N).
I will continue to update my likes and dislikes regularly.
