R4's to Turf tires?

Guys,

After getting done with the landscaping work I am going to purchase Turf tires for my 3030. Right know I have R-4's(used tractor came with them). 1) will I have to buy new rims? 2) If I do have to buy new rims and tires about what will it cost me? My dealer said it would little bit more than the BX tires that he said cost about 400 dollars.

Nope don't think you need the rims, but I'd get a new set with them myself. You may want the R4's back on one day, easy switch and I think someone posted before that the rims are not that expensive...but guess that depends on you dealer. Worth doing unless you plan on selling the R4's.

I was thinking about getting a set of turfs for my B3030 about a year ago and the local dealer indicated that the set of four (with rims) was around $900. If you find out it is only $400 , let me know.

I'm with Taiser, if at all possible, buy rims too and have two seperate sets. I sure wish i had two complete sets....... I used to with my first tractor. Should there come a time when you decide to sell / trade your tractor, you can put the second set on Craigslist (or equivalent) and get a fair portion of your investment back.

Same here let us know. Most Dealers act like to order tires and rims (without the tractor) is just too much to ask.

Hi Folks,
The price quted me doing that in 2005 was right around $1000.00 complete set of new turf tires new rims all the way around. I traded in the stereo for the extra tires + $400.00 cash. Best choice as the turfs are easy on my back compared to the industrials. $900.00 is pretty good. keep in mind that the rear tires are big and expensive and with the price of oil going stupid I would expect tire prices to rocket up accordingly soon if they already have not done so.
