If you buy the hydrostatic transmission and the NH loader (currently the 16LA) you will have two switch buttons on the joystick in addition to the fender toggle switch. If it's another brand of loader, then only the fender will have a switch. I guess it's a simple point, but the joystick has two separate switches that are recessed in such a way that it makes it hard to press one or the other by mistake. I think if it were a single toggle switch there, I'd inadvertenly switch speeds very often.

...and yes, you can switch speeds on the go. It's a super feature. I don't know if I could ever get used to not having it. I use it constantly. Just don't downshift at high speed. You WILL slow down in a hurry.:D

I love shifting the rabbit/turtle on the go on Dad's TC40DA - turtle for power to dig into a pile of dirt, then hit the rabbit to crank up the speed for travel. I call it the "turbo" button.:D
