radiator heater for my chinese beauty

with good ole winter coming on, I want to make sure my F/P 2425 will start so I can show the Deeres, Fords, and Massys that I can clear their driveways while they try to get out of their barns---so--- can someone possible tell me the diameter of the heater fitting that will fit into the radiator hose. Farm and Fleet has them---but they have several diff diameters. Also--I want to change the injector oil. Am I correct that I take out the two bottom nuts on the injector pump, drain the oil, and refill till oil comes out the fitting with the rubber cap . Does the drain {with the banjo fitting and rubber cap} have to be loosened like a petcock valve or does the oil drain out just the way it is. I have Farm/Pro 2425 (rebadged Jimmna 254). Thank for any info. This is the best tractor help site that I,ve ever been on.

Check out the thread strarted by Yukonking (jm254 Injector pump) Lots of info on changing inj oil . . You are right about the two bottom bolts (with copper washers) for draining and you have to open the banjo nut with rubber cap to let eccess drain out (cap off). Remove vent cap to fill. My pump took about 12oz - ED

I assume that you are asking about the 120 Volt induction heater that splices into the lower radiator hose. If your Chinese beauty still has the original engine coolant, drain the coolant, discard it, then remove the lower radiator hose at the radiator. Measure the radiator fitting at it's narrowest point. This will determine the outside diameter of the heater you want to install. You will need to cut out a section of the lower radiator hose in order to install the heater. Use Prestone or the equivalent to refill the cooling system because Chinese coolants and lubricants are a piece of crap.
Before you put down the Deeres, Fords and other tractors please remember that they can use the same coolant pre-heater and an oil pan heater to enable starting in sub-zero weather.
My KAMA doesn't need either of these aids or glow plugs to start at freezing temperatures. I turn the key and she fires right up.

That is the beauty of a Direct Injection engine. amazingly quicker to start. the loss of the DI YD485 int he KAMA TS series was a big part of the reason I went to China to finalize our arrangements for the new AgTrac tractors. we are only using direct injection engines.

I have never recieved a tractor form china with coolant in it. they don't even use it much there. you can usually find in themanual to use "soft water" from a creek even, to fill the radiator each day, then drain it at night if its cold....

We asked the factory if we could save a little money by shipping the gearbox empty, since we just throw out the oil when we assemble the tractors, but they tried it and had some rusting issues due to condensation forming in the gearbox in storage and transit. We have the cleanest, lightest waste oil coming out of our tank.

Chip I recently got a chinese backhoe ( I know I know) It's an lg-6 and it was shipped without oil

and you would not believe the amount of rust in the hydraulic tank. If they filled it with "soft water" I think the tank would be cleaner! Ed

At least in my "neck of the woods" NAPA had the heaters for about $30. I just cut the hose where I wanted to install the heater and went and bought the size I needed. Plug it in for 30 minutes before you try to start it on a cold morning and it makes a huge difference, it will fire right up-saving the battery and the starter.

I bought my Katz heater at the local Autozone for around 20 bucks last year. I can't remember the diameter, but you can just cut the lower radiator hose in the spot you are going to install the heater, measure the inside diameter and match it with the heater in the store. You can always bring a small piece of the hose to the store, and try it on the heater directly.
