Radiator hoses looking a bit brittle on my DK50

So I was planning on replacing them. Problem is I have a cab with a heater in it. When I drain the radiator, I am assuming the water will drain out of the lines going to the heater in the cab (located on the roof of the cab). I would assume when I put new coolant in it, there will be a air pocket near the heater core on the roof. Is there a trick to making sure the lines are flushed and no air pockets?

Mine's not old enough yet that would require a change but I have changed the coolant on a friends cabbed tractor after he blew an upper hose. After hose replacement then draining, flushing, and draining again I refilled with a 50/50 coolant mix then started the tractor with the heater on full bore. I left the radiator cap off and once the T-stat opened the water pump pushed the new coolant through the entire system. As the air pocket made its way back to the radiator the level dropped I just topped off the radiator. I let it run for about an hour and had no more level drop in the radiator and the heater was blasting hot air.
