Has anyone fabricated or use a removeable radiator screen? I was brush mowing christmas tree fields with my brother-in-law's Kubota 2320, and I liked the idea of removing that screen, shaking off and washing off all the junk that would've gone into the radiator fins, and re-inserting it. I have a S470d, and the outside black mesh grill is there, and stops the larger stuff from getting into the radiator, but a whole bunch makes it into the radiator. My Dad's MT250d has a screen on the radiator.

I was thinking of doing a home-depot type thing with it...but I figured I'd ask here first.

There is a place to slide one in on the Buck but I don't have one either.

OK, I see those two tabs on the back of the front Grill. That must be where one would attach. Shouldn't be too hard to attach some kind of a screen to that.

I've thought about making a wood frame to go in there, just like an old screen door. Would fit my Buck and the 1450 Mits.

I would measure the space then go to a glass shop. They either make screens or know where to have them made.

Its just a junk-catcher. You don't need a high precision fit.

I went to the general store and picked up one of those 24x24x1/2 multi-fit hvac filters, cut it to fit and used it. It sounds too simple to work, but it does. I still have to wash out the radiator occassionally, but it works better than the stock mesh screen. Drop $7, give it a shot.

Why not maybe get some expanded metal from the hardware store and simply cut to fit?
By that I suggest the size mesh generally used as fireplace screening or spark arrestor mesh.
That size would keep out bugs leaves and such.

Both good ideas, why didn't I think of that. Guess it was too obvious/easy.
