So I installed a radio. I hooked up all the speaker wires (rear speakers), Black with black (ground), red with red ( ignition power) yellow with yellow (constant power). I used it for about a week and then the other day it stopped working. I thought the radio might have stopped working because it was an older one pulled out of the truck. I purchase a new radio and the same thing. So I watched a couple YouTube videos and decide to connect the orange wire (dimmer?) to the yellow (constant power). So now it痴 working. But I noticed the clock goes back to 12:00 every time I turn the tractor on and off. I also noticed the interior cab light (light on ceiling) worked before even when no radio was installed. When the radio stopped working so did the light. Now that the radio is working the light is also BUT once I disconnected the radio the light no longer works (?). I checked the fuse and it痴 fine. Any idea what the issue might be?

I have the radio wired just like it was when it worked and then stopped except now it only works when I have the orange wire connected to both yellow wires.

Any chance your ground wire is hooked to the ground wire for the light? It sounds like the ground is bad and the light is providing the ground to the radio.

Yeah... ground circuit, many people don't realize the ground side is the OTHER HALF the circuit... missing or poor grounds are the worst nightmares to chase down and fix...

Why would you have yellow wire from radio connected to dome light, Yellow wire should be full time hot so it keeps clock active and you don't lose station presets, if everytime you jump into cab and clock starts at 12:00 it tells me power to "keep alive" wire (yellow) goes off when you leave tractor...

I’m guessing the dome light is on the same circuit as the radio because it started to not work after the radio started to not work. I ran a jumper ground wire and got the same results. I tested all wires from the radio harness and the constant (yellow) has power as it should when there’s no key in the ignition, ignition power wire (red) has power when the ignition is turned on also. Ground is also working and again I ran a jumper to make sure it’s not the ground. Bought a new radio and it still doesn’t go on with verifying that there’s power there. I know, it doesn’t make sense.

When my LS tractor was brand new, I installed a new BT Pioneer head unit.

It still is a quality receiver but with poor speakers installed from the factory.....

I opted for a headset BT'd to my phone with a 12v charger plugged into my phone.

It's worked flawlessly for years now.

Plus, I haven't missed one, not one, telemarketer's phone call.

Who buys from these YoYo's? They wouldn't continue if someone wasn't falling for their mule muffins!

I installed a Pioneer Bluetooth radio in my tractor as well. I also replaced the crap factory speakers with some nice 5 &1/4 speakers. It sounds good and hasn’t given the first problem.

I you have power and a good ground, it has to be the radio.

I think you will find the Orange wire is the electric aerial wire which makes the aerial go up when the radio is switched on and down again when the radio is switched off .

My bad, Blue wire is antenna control wire .

Think I would back up and remove orange wire from circuit.... Yellow wire is usually constant power to keep clock and channel storage information alive... THink you are confusing issue/operation by adding in orange wire to yellows .... Yellow wire (keep alive) should go directly to a fuse the has power (12 volts) on it all the time... Are you sure where yellow wire is connected has 12 volt when tractor is shut down and put to bed...

Think 3Lfarms nails it....its the radio....

Most schematic show orange wire as illumination.. Should go to dash lamp dimmer control if you have one...

There are couple plugs under driverside door one of which rots out. When it does you will lose radio or dome light or work lights or any combination. Kioti has a plug kit to cut out and replace with

Anyone have more info or a part #for this plug kit? I replaced a radio and had problems with the new radio, but then realized the dome light does no work either. I disconnected and cleaned a few connections between cab& fuel tank and reconnected but it did not help. One of the connections did look corroded. The voltmeter shows 12 volts at dome light until I turn the light switch to on, then it shows 0. My tractor is a DK10 but appears to be very similar issue.
