I velcroed a CD+radio wanlkman to my right fender and listen with ear buds under my ear protection. Works great. Only drawback is that if you are working off the tractor and just want to listen you have to carry the walkman with you...or plug a set of speakers in the walkman.

i added a stereo cassette/radio to the fender of my 4100.

i am thinking about changing to a radio headphone to cut down on the db level.

The ones from TSC are weather 'resistant' and have a built in speaker that bypasses when you use a pair of headphones... fairly nice.

I bought a headset radio from Sears. Cups both ears so as to act as a sound attenuator. Has FM/AM.
Previously I bought a FM set only from Northern Tool, for twice the price of the Sears set. Works great for listening to tunes of football games.
I went with the headset radio, as my Boomer has plastic/fiberglass fenders, and there was no room to mount the tractor radio.

I am working on an idea which would use cordless attenuating headphones, to allow you to hop off and not have to untangle/unplug the phones. I would really like to do that to some of the pro sets which attenuate the above 70dB and amplify quiet stuff

I guess it would be pretty easy to bury a tiny fm radio in one of them....

are you a SR guy, or what does your handle refer to....

I'm guessing you refering to sound reinforcemnt when you said 'SR'.
My education is in civil engineering, but I had taken much courses in electrical eng. before I changed majors. I do sound eng. as a second 'fun' job.
Yes, I do mostly sound reinforcement for live bands, but have logged some post audio for recording and video work, systems design, and acoustic treatment, etc.

I get pulled into some of the same stuff. I enjoy it a lot. I trained in nuke, and sound is just another wavelength, with its own fun quirks...
