My first question: I'm a long-time reader and my BX23 is sick. The bucket won't raise when you pull the joy stick all the way down, but it will move to a light pull. The bucket won't go down unless it's in the float mode. The bucket is curling up and down fine. Also, the bh moves to the right only. I unhooked and reset all qds. No help there. I took hyd lines off bh, no difference. This happened twice before, but I played with the up, down, and curling a little bit then everything worked fine. This time that doesn't correct it. Oil level is fine. Please help! She really doesn't feel well.

Try swapping the lift and curl hoses to see if the problem follows. If it goes from lift to curl, you might have a busted spool in your joystick's dual valve or some type of obstruction. While changing the quick connects around, make sure all the o-ring seals are in place and something is not interfering with those connections. I would leave the BH disconnected and troubleshoot one problem at a time. If you get the FEL working, you might find the BH again responds correctly. There is probably something interfering with normal power-beyond flow to the BH.

Install a hyd gage and test the pressure.

If there was anything blocking the fluid , you would know it. If no valves are being used, then the fluid flows through all the valves with no pressure or very little pressure. I don't think the pump is putting out enough pressure/volume. With a gear type pump, when the engine is running, that fluid is going somewhere. If you operate the FEL lever, then you are using part of the fluid, and when you pull the lever all the way fwd or back, then you use all the pump volume, and if there is something hooked up to the work ports, then the fluid will flow to the cylinders and return and go out the OUT port of the valve. Any fluid not used by the work ports will go out the PB port to any other valves.

thanks for the responses. it all started when i tried to lift something waayy too heavy. i played with the joystick a little, then back to normal operations. now for some reason it will go out of whack every once in while. once again it's back working properly. is there a valve somewhere that might kick off then reseat itself when joystick is played with.
