But MSRP isn't what you pay. Routinely people get them for $13-15K off that pricing. Which I assume is the norm across brands, because MSRPs are pretty similar and I wouldn't pay $60K for a truck.Rob

Typically folks quote a percentage value and not a dollar value. 10K off a truck with an MSRP of 80K isn't the same as 10K off a truck with an MSRP of 45K. Discounts are regional but as a general rule, you can use volume dealers to get your local dealer to price match, that is what I did and got the purchase price of 19.2% off MSRP of $70,000 plus tax and fees. While the percentage discounts are holding, RAM upped the delivery fee and upped the cost of popular options including a charge for paint.

Again, this could be regional, but when I last shopped for a new truck, GM and Ford dealers offered the typical discount where the out the door purchase price equaled the MSRP, not much of a deal compared to the RAM dealer.

True about the percentage thing. But the trucks I've personally purchased and known others to purchase had MSRP's in the just-under to just-over $50K range so the discounts have been consistent dollar-wise and that dollar range of discount is what I recall most easily when the topic comes up. If you need it as a percentage I'd say it is in the low-to-mid 20's.

In March of 2015 I ordered a RAM 3500 Cummins Longhorn with rear air leveling, gooseneck prep, and cargo camera. These are options that are not typically found in dealer's yard stock. At first, I couldn't find any dealers around me that would match the discounts offered by Denis Dillon. I was ready to give Dillon the order (since I was going to be out that way) but at the last minute, a dealer got back to me and matched the discounts. Seven weeks later I was driving it home.

Over the years I typically see people posting they received anywhere from 17% to 22% off MSRP on a RAM. I don't know if that is true, I only have first-hand knowledge on my purchase. I would assume higher percentages are on higher optioned trucks. I know factory incentives are regional and vary. I also bought during truck month which offered additional savings.

FYI, to calculate the percentage of discount from MSRP; ((MSRP - PurchasePrice) / MSRP) where the purchase price is before taxes and fees. If you need the result with the decimal point in the correct place, times the result by 100.

Thank you Monster 5601. Did you order and still get the discounts? That would work for me because I also want an odd combination. Sure hope I can pull this together.

Yes, 19.2% off MSRP. Despite Internet rumors, it is easier to get more discount on an ordered truck than one in dealer yard stock because there isn't any floor planning or advertisement money spend. So you can get 100% of the holdback money applied. Hold back on my ordered vehicle was $2,045. Also, ask the salesperson to go over the list of discounts, they hate this because it consumes their time but it is worth it to you. For example, when I bought mine, owning any Bobcat equipment gave you a $500 discount. There is a long list of qualifiers, and some you will likely qualify for.

Also, when you order you are price locked in. Again, despite Internet rumors and lying sales personal, the price you agreed at order is the price you pay when the truck comes in unless additional factory offers have increased at the time of delivery. Unlike other manufacturers, RAM increases their pricing here and there throughout the year. Between when I ordered my truck and when it was delivered, the MSRP increased by $655 which I did not have to pay.

You can look over on the Edmons site, they go through this in great detail. If you can't get a local to work with you, have Dillon order the truck for you, when it comes in, fly out, they will shuttle from the airport, sign and drive home.
