Ok so I finally have about 8 hours on my new CT230. Everything works as expected except the range shifter seems to be out of adjustment. All ranges are working as well as the neutral positions but they are all forward of the markings on the housing. This at first didn't seem to be a big deal until while brush cutting over some rough ground it popped out of low range. Apparently while it goes into low range the shifter is against the end of the slot and probably is not all the way into low range. I can not see any adjustment on the linkage nor does the shifter housing (or floorboard) show to be out of place. Perhaps shifter has tab welded on slightly off?? Has anyone else see this problem? Or is there an adjustment I am missing? I know this is under warranty but if an adjustment would fix it that would be way easier than hauling into dealer.

It is usually caused by someone being to rammy with it. They force it and bend the rod slightly. I don't think there is an adjustment but I may be wrong.

I believe their was another fellow here that had the same issue and the rod was bent.

People like to force things...instead they need to lightly rock the travel pedal until it goes in the selected range.

Could have had someone on the dealer's lot bend it.

Should be covered under warranty.

Oh ya forgot...my CT230 occasionally pops out of L/M/H. Usually if I was not paying enough attention to engaging the shifter and it goes in only part way.

I had the same issue with my range lever. I let some one borrow the tractor :( and they ended up bending the lever. I took it to the dealer, never again will I take it to that dealer, and their fix was to die grind my body of the tractor to move the bumper ahead so the lever could move farther. It was way off from hitting the marks on the body of H-M-L. I knew that could not be right and found out the lever was bent from someone being over zealous and not bumping the pedals to get gears to mesh. After taking my tractor apart myself all the way to opening the rear diff to only find the lever was bent I simply bent it back where it needed to be. Also the computer onboard has a sensor on the range lever that sees the tractor in neutral before letting the tractor start and this may need calibration if the lever is moved to much from the origional position it was calibrated at. Let me know if you have to do it, I can look in my repair manual and let you know how to do it (it involved cycling the ignition and a few things).

Only the 335 and larger 400 series have the sensor on the range shifter, for neutral start. The 200 series and 122 have neutral sensor on the hydrstatic foot pedal.

need to adjust mine as well, think my issue started when my son was helping me.

My CK30 range shifter is off as well, and it was that way from the
warehouse. (I picked mine up and did the final assembly myself.) However,
the stick is always to the REAR of each marking.

My CT230's shifter was also a bit off, but perhaps not as much.

Notice how the shifter catches your leg when in low range? When you get
on and off the tractor? I think that I will shorten it a couple of inches,
and straighten it at the same time.

Well after further inspection on mine it seems that the little tab (for lack of a better term) on the range shifter handle is bent slightly. Paint on it is even peeling a little with slight amount of rust underneath the peeling paint. Perhaps someone got a little rough with it while on dealer lot, who knows. Anyway when I get a chance to get back to the tractor I think I'll put the tractor in Med range and shut down the tractor disconnect the linkage and see how much it is off by moving the handle to what should be Med range on the indicator. Still seems that the long rod down to the transmission would have had some adjustment to it.

My tractor would not start with about 25 hours on it. I called the dealer and while going through all the different things that have interlocks, it turned out to be the range shifter interlock. We had it in low, however after moving the lever some it allowed it to start. Not sure if it was coicidence or not, but that was the last thing we did to get it to start. My markings are pretty close in line.

Only the 335 and larger 400 series have the sensor on the range shifter, for neutral start. The 200 series and 122 have neutral sensor on the hydrstatic foot pedal.
