Today while playing with the BX24, I noticed a rather loud metallic rattle  coming from the FEL while I was raising the boom and cycling the loader.

The engine was at about 2200 RPM.

I suspect that the loader stand was rattling, but I can't be sure since the rattle came and went and didn't last long enough for me to decide if it was the stand or not.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks

Jeff

Just to make sure.... you do keep up with greasing all the zerks on the loader, right?

Greased them two operating hours ago.

The joystick on mine rattles a bit when standing hands-free.

Do you have the little piece of rubber hose over the nipple where the stand mounts in the stored position?

Either the FEL stands or the joystick will rattle whenever the engine rpm hits their resonant frequency... by carefully and finely adjusting the throttle/listening, you should be able to repeat and isolate the rattle(s). I wouldn't sweat it at all.

Didn't even know there was such a thing...at least I haven't noticed it. You're talking about the pin that holds the stand in place when it's folded?

I think that is what he is saying / asking. I didn't know that was a gadget either. Makes sense.

Thanks. I'll check it out today.

Another quick and easy thing to check is the bucket. If your loader has a QA bucket, drop it off (about a 20 second job on my machine). the pins holding my bucket to the loader are fairly snug, but I'll get a rattle every now and then.
