Something that drives me crazy is the occasional loud rattling of the loader stands (in their folded up position) when I hit certain RPMs or just the right angle. I'm thinking about stuffing some rubber between the supports and the arm to dampen the noise.

Has anyone done anything like this? Or am I the only one that gets annoyed with rattling or squeaks?

To really drive me crazy, put a Styrofoam cooler full of stuff in the back seat of the truck and let me hear the squeaking for the whole drive. :)

I ended up taking off the loader stands and putting them in my garage. The tractor probably won't leave my property, and I think the FEL will stay on most/all the time.

Related Question (I was going to start a new thread)

I am having a rattle from the semicircular piece/support for the bucket curl on the inside bottom of the loader arms (see picture after saying "huh"?)

Questions: What is this piece called? Is it a problem if the inside piece has enough play to rattle +1/8 inch? The inside support retaining clip will spin by hand easily while the support on the outside of the FEL doesn't have play and the clip is firmly in place.

Everything in that area of the tractor looks perfect, straight with no apparent issues. Issue or no issue?

Thanks
Jeff

I have the same issue on both counts, the stands and the half moon pieces. The stands I'm sure I can deal with somehow, but the slack/slop in the half moons does bother me. As this is my first tractor, and used one at that, I am not sure if that slack is normal, bad design or excessive wear.

i also removed my stands, as ill probably only remove the loader during servicing. Those other 1/2 moon things (boom linkage) you are discussing are designed to be loose. not sure why, but they are not defective. They function in allowing the bucket to rotate. Mine rattle a bit, and i was thinking of adding a fiber washer to them....still might, but i also run the radio, so i guess only those on the ground will hear it  :) :licking:

My GC came with a thick piece of rubber that mounts to the loader arm just below the stud that holds them in the "folded" position. The only thing is they keep falling off when the loader is parked off the tractor. Need to find a strong glue to use, maybe a panel bonding agent.

Long long ago I took off those silly loader stands and buried them in the garage. I have no intention of removing the loader, at all, ever. The goofy stands get in the way of lashing the machine to the trailer.

My avatar pic shows the new tractor 1000 hours ago when I had not yet chuicked those things. It's also the old crackerbox loader.
