Rayco Stump Grinder

I have a Rayco stump grinder that goes on my C140. I have a real big problem with dirt getting into the cutter wheel bearing on the nondriven side.I have built a cover to go over the end of the shaft but that hasn't worked.
Question. Has anyone else had the same problem and what did you do to overcome it?
