I was flipping through the john deere website and my literature and found an option for a front blade for the JD loaders, not the tractors, but a blade that fits on the loaders themselves. It was listed with the pallet forks,4in1bucket, etc.
Does anyone have this attachment? Has anyone seen one?Does it have hydralic angle? What is the msrp? Sounds like it would be good for snow removal. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Thanks

I have one that I use on my 420 loader. Mine has the standard manual angling, but hydraulic angling is available. It requires the 3rd hydraulic fuction kit that would also be used to operate a 4-N-1 Bucket.

I have used the blade to clear snow from paved parking lots and roads, but not gravel. It has skid shoes that are easily adjustable. You have to adjust the loader height and pitch each time you lower the blade to make sure the blade pivot pin is absolutely vertical--otherwise if the blade is angled the edge will not be in contact with the ground uniformly and it will want to gouge.

I paid $1100 for the blade 3 years ago. Don't know the price of the hydraulic angling kit for the blade or the 3rd hydraulic function kit for the loader.

That looks interesting. I also notice you have some interesting looking chains on the front. I've been looking at getting some for my 4310. Do you mind telling me what you have mounted on yours and if you like them?
Thanks

JimmyD,

The tire chains are made from lateral rubber straps connected to circumferential chains. They protect asphalt and concrete driveways from scratches that would occur with regular chains. I have been very pleased with them.

I purchased them through Dave Anderson of Deer Creek Equipment, Oxford, PA. (1-800-255-6567) www.dcequip.com.
