TC34da
Bought tc34da last fall with 914A installed. Took it off to use rotary cutter on rough ground and now I am stuggling to re-install the MMM. When I took the 914A off, I followed the instructions, lowered the unit all the way and pulled the four pins holding it to the brackets intalled on my tractor. I figured I was in trouble then becasue the parts on the tractor jumped up with much force even though my lift controls were all the way down. I figured I'd worry about it in the Spring and now...

My Super Steer makes it real easy to move it into position. Sure enough, even with my lift controls all the way down, there is a good distance beteen the tractor brackets up front and the target holes on the mower. A neighbor figures he can adjust the turnbuckle on the rod to lower the bracket arms and then if the leveler on the 3 pt hitch lift arms is as low as it can go, we can get that side on. If the other lift arm is repinned to the lowest hole, it will fit on that side but the book says that's a no-no.

Hey, take it easy on me and give me some hints but make sure you undestand you are talking to a guy who has run tractors for 25 years but who has p---Poor mechanical skills.

I think I'd just lever it up with a 2x4 or two, get a block of some kind under it, and put the pins in. That presumes you liked the way it was cutting last fall and don't want to make any adjustments to it.

It should be way easier than that. Sounds like it is not adjusted properly.

Do a search on 914A or MMM in the NH owner's forum & you'll find some threads on how to adjust the cushion lift. This info + what's in your owner's manual should get you close.

I find I get best alignment on my TC18 when removing is if the guage wheels are set at 2.5 or 3".

Here's one thread Leveling 914A

There are a few more. Good luck

I have a TC33DA and I have to remember to lower the wheels, which raises the deck, to get the pins to line up. I usually cut at 3 to 3 1/2" but raising the deck higher is even better to align pins. I remove the deck a few times a month so I will inevitably forget to lower wheels in a hurry and have to pry up deck to lower wheels to get it back on.

This is correct. You need to raise the deck by adjusting it to cut to the highest cutting height. You should be able to push the lifting arms' down alittle if needed (lower the three point all the way first). Do not adjust the turn buckles! The three point arms need to be level (within reason) or you can bend (damage) the linkage of the mower. The mower needs to "float" as well as be level to cut properly. Greg

note my 72" 914A (built out of plate it seems) is one heavy mo-fo!

I have found on my 914 72" it is best to have the wheels up at the higher spot. Also keep the back wheels a 1/2" higher than the front. Little trick my dealer told me. This helps a lot. However when having the wheels at the higher spot I can not slide mine out the side so I raise the front wheels with my loader and roll the mower out the front.
